Binders and STAR folders need to go home and come back to school everyday. Math: Homework will be sent home daily. The worksheet is directly tied to the lesson of the day. It MUST be completed each night and returned the next day. It will be reviewed in class to check for understanding. Multiplication facts should be studied, timed tests are on Thursdays. Reading: Students should read for 20 to 30 minutes every night. Please complete and sign the reading log. It will include dates for the month but is due every Friday for the teacher to check. Students will be working on reading 30 books this year, from all genres. Spelling: This will begin soon. I will send home ideas for ways students can practice spelling. They will get a list of words on Mondays and should practice their words nightly. They will keep these lists in their STAR folders. The tests are on Fridays. Spelling words will be posted on this website in case the list is lost. Graded work: Students will place “keep at home” papers in the pocket of their binder. Please review your child’s work and check Focus for current grades.
